GardenViewFarm Nigerian Dwarf and Myotonic Goats
We are family! Two families come together, a Mother with a daughter and a Father with a son. Both Dan and I grew up in families where doing "chores" weren't considered "child labor" but part of growing up and lessons on responsibilities and pride from ones accomplishments. I had horses ... Dan had dairy cows...eh, they are large and eat a lot! Goats seemed like the most efficient option!
It all went downhill... I mean uphill from there! We started out with 2 and somehow ended up with 31 in a short time! Man, that goat math will getcha! The kids love playing with the goats; however, chores... eh, not so much. Until... showtime! We learned so much about prepping, winning, "losing", and how to be a team. We stress to the kids that any ribbon won is for our "team" and we are happy no matter who gets it:-)
Hopefully, we can continue obtaining and breeding beautiful correct animals that are also productive on the stand. We are also participating in DHIR as well as Linear Appraisals.
We are located in Freedom, a small town in Western NY. We are planning to show across the state as well as bordering states. So if you aren't near us, we will see you there!
